New Year’s Updates – January 2011

January 19 is Peer Programs Day at UBC! What does this mean for you? Be sure to wear your Peer Programs t-shirt and stop by the CSI to say hi. Check with your program advisor about helping out with the info booth and/or helping to bake goodies. Let all your friends know about the event and that they can apply to be involved in Peer Programs for 2011-2012 online by January 31, 2011.

Upcoming amazing training opportunities! The Personal and Professional Development Program (PPDP) is offering some excellent workshops later this month. These include Courage to Act: Diversity II at 12 noon on January 18, True Colors at 6 PM on January 27 and A Global Praxis: Reflective Leadership in International Engagement at 9:30 AM on January 29. Click on the links provided for registration info.

Did you attend the SLC? Be sure to fill out a workshop reflection sheet for those sessions that qualify for a Peer Programs PPDP certificate and hand them in to your program advisor to receive credit.

Stretch your leadership muscles even further! Consider joining one of our five Project Teams with UBC Peer Programs. Each team meets once every two weeks and you can help to plan Peer Programs events and initiatives such as Project SEEN, or help with things like recruitment and training. Find out more on our website or talk to your PPEC rep.
