Alumni Ambassadors

What It Is:

Alumni Affairs recognizes the importance of an exceptional student experience and the value it brings to its students, alumni and the larger university community.  This program aims to connect both ambassadors and current students with alumni in an effort to both learn and engage.  It also presents support to current Peer Programs in their efforts to engage their alumni in their programming.

Who We Are:

UBC Alumni Ambassadors work as official representatives of Alumni Affairs and connect with alumni in communities across the Lower Mainland.  Ambassadors are leaders and role models on campus, who reconnect alumni with activities occurring at UBC’s Vancouver Campus. This group of ambassadors also engages current students with alumniUBC and local alum in order to continue the UBC experience after graduation. Ambassadors gain valuable professional experience working with alumni, staff and other students.

The UBC Alumni Ambassadors Peer Program works in partnership with alumniUBC, centrally and with the Faculty of Arts.

What We Do:

  • Connect one-on-one with alumni, in person
  • Increase their own knowledge of and exposure to alumni to establish their own personal network
  • Reconnect alumni with the current student experience and UBC’s priorities
  • Engage students in other Peer Programs in university and unit flagship events
  • Coordinate relationships with campus-based alumni programs and liaise with campus groups to provide connections with the alumni they are reconnecting with
  • Help to build networks and relationships between students and alumni in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia
