We’re community-minded students who are passionate about giving back to on-campus and off-campus communities by helping students find a place and way into community-based experiential learning. The UBC Community Learning Initiative has leadership roles in the following areas: Trek, Reading Week, and special projects. We work closely with students, community partners, and UBC-CLI staff to support and promote community learning programs.
What We Do:
- Support and mentor a team of UBC students participating in the Trek Program or Reading Week project
- Maintain an ongoing presence at the community partner site and meet regularly with the partner
- Work with community partners, UBC-CLI staff, and other Student Leaders to help plan and implement a community project
- Help deliver learning and reflection activities for students
- Represent the UBC Community Learning Initiative and build awareness of the community learning opportunities at UBC events
