When: Monday January 23, 5:00 – 6:30 PM
Where: Simon K.Y. Lee Global Lounge
Most of us are ignorant of everyone else’s beliefs and cultures, so this inter-faith event will provide the opportunity for people to find out some more about the people we all go to school with and hear about in other parts of the world. We will have an opportunity to learn more about other people, which doesn’t come around too often. It’s rare that we are able to ask whatever we want or are interested in learning about other beliefs and cultures! This will be a great experience for everyone wanting to learn more, and also it will be a potluck event so everyone will bring desserts! If you do decide to bring something, we are hoping to start exactly on time so it would be nice if you could bring the desserts a little bit earlier so we can get them all set up!
The purpose of this event is for everybody to establish connections with each other, so we can officially get started with an interfaith community and establish relations with each other so that we can collaborate together on future projects. Many of you may not know about each others’ faiths/religions/spirituality group, so to begin with, it would be nice if everyone could start with a very short blurb about who they are. We are also dedicated to creating an environment for Jewish and non Jewish students alike by providing educational, spiritual, social, and cultural events.
After everyone has introduced themselves, we can all mingle and eat all the desserts you all bring! This will hopefully be one of many exciting interfaith events to come!
Facilitated by the Jewish Students Association
