What does leadership mean to you? Have you ever noticed that people can have very different perspectives on leadership depending on their cultural backgrounds? The Intercultural Perspectives on Leadership Learning Lab will expose students to styles of leadership that can be unique to their respective cultural environments, and provide tips and strategies so students can utilize skills in intercultural understanding to better perceive different leadership approaches under unique cultural settings.

Residence Life. UBC REC. Peer Programs. Faculty Undergraduate Society. What have you been involved with as a student leader at UBC? Have you worn many hats and played many different roles this term? What have you experienced? What have you learned? Taking the time to reflect on what involvement means to you and how it affects your student life is important as is taking the time to apply your reflections to your leadership and career goals as you continue to be involved. This session will focus on how to assess your student leadership involvement and determine how your current experiences can help you achieve your career goals and open up new possibilities for leadership.

Video production, or videography, is the art and service of videotaping, editing, and distributing a finished video product. This can include television production, commercial video production, and corporate and event videos. Video is becoming a demanded communications medium – everyone wants to see their project, idea, or program on YouTube and watch the view count rise. We’ll look at some of the basics you need to consider when looking to produce great video content. *This session will focus on the planning/considerations of video production and less on technical aspects of production.

QPR is an internationally recognized suicide prevention program that stands for Question, Persuade, Refer. QPR Gatekeeper Training provides the knowledge needed to reach out to a friend, peer, student, family member, or colleague who may be experiencing suicidality and connect them to resources that will help.
QPR Gatekeepers are those in a position to recognize the warning signs that someone may be contemplating suicide. Once trained, Gatekeepers will have the knowledge needed to assist someone in crisis.
