QPR is an internationally recognized suicide prevention program that stands for Question, Persuade, Refer. QPR Gatekeeper Training provides the knowledge needed to reach out to a friend, peer, student, family member, or colleague who may be experiencing suicidality and connect them to resources that will help.
QPR Gatekeepers are those in a position to recognize the warning signs that someone may be contemplating suicide. Once trained, Gatekeepers will have the knowledge needed to assist someone in crisis.

Learn about the work that Out in Schools does to raise awareness about homophobia and bullying within BC’s school system and find out about how you can use film more effectively to raise awareness about social justice issues at UBC. Out in Schools brings queer films to local high schools to facilitate discussion with youth on bullying, homophobia and stereotypes and they give youth a safe space to explore these issues. Their aim is to increase understanding through education to combat the issues threatening the safety of our classrooms for all students.
